Anthropic renames Max 20x to Ultra and drops its 5-hour limit

Anthropic has renamed Claude's top-tier plans: Max 5x is now simply Max, and Max 20x has become Ultra. Prices are unchanged at $100 and $200 a month respectively, and existing subscribers do not need to do anything. The key change concerns Ultra: the company is removing the 5-hour usage limit for verified accounts, and most current subscribers got it as of October 30. Newer accounts keep a temporary limit until they are verified, which Anthropic says helps prevent fraud and abuse; an email will confirm when the limit is lifted. Weekly limits stay the same.
